ORRIS currently gathers a collection of 4 cold-process soaps, all made in France and answering specific skin concerns. ORRIS soaps are suitable for sensitive skin and bring results on psoriasis and eczema prone skin. The composition and scents of ORRIS soaps take inspiration from multiple cultures and medicines, for instance Ayurveda, aromatherapy as well as Western herbal medicine.
Formulas mainly gather fine oils, butters, and botanicals such as Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil and Castor Oil. These combinations of high-quality ingredients enable a multipurpose and gentle cleansing. All products are free of sulphates, surfactants, parabens, and synthetic fragrances or colorants. They contain no Animal Fats nor Palm Oil and are cruelty-free.

The first soap of ORRIS’s collection targets acne-prone skin and unveils hydrating and healing properties. Called LE BOTANISTE, its key ingredients are St Johns Wart known for accelerating the healing of wounds and sunburns, Comfrey Leaf, Calendula Petals and Montmorillonite Clay ideal for hydrating and soothing the skin thanks to their anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial actions. Its scent is described as earthy and evokes the freshness of sweet Moroccan mint tea with a note of patchouli, as a homage to provincial gardens.

The second soap ORRIS’s collection is suitable for all skin types thanks to a minimalist and scentless formula. Taking inspiration from a traditional ingredient of Japanese cleansing and toning rituals, this soap entitled LE SOLISTE focuses on fermented rice water. This fermentation process brings amino acids alongside Vitamins B and E out of the rice proteins. This extraction has conditioning and brightening benefits.

The third soap ORRIS’s collection focuses on purifying and detoxifying the skin. Called LA DÉESSE, its formula gathers two key ingredients: Indian Madder and Raw Honey. The first one has detoxifying properties and is known for softening the skin, whereas the second is ideal for deeply nourishing dehydrated skin. With a dark pink colour, the scent of LA DÉESSE combines the sensual floral notes of Egyptian Geranium with the sharp scent of Camphor. The inspiration behind the scent draws the illustration of a balance between the Apollonian and the Dionysian.

This formula and name evoke the lifestyle of pastoral nomads and travellers such as The Berbers in North Africa who live according the seasons. This Arabic landscape is also expressed across the woody scent of LE NOMADE composed of notes of Cedarwood from the Atlas Mountains and Cypress.
